Hi... Question...(source ports)

I'd like to know.. I read the rules on compet-N and have a question still... I'd like to know are source ports allowed or not? I like running with jDoom and Doom legacy. Is it ok to use these while doing demos?

Nope.
The rules clearly state that only doom(2).exe demos are allowed... and for good reason.
Perhaps there is a need for a secondary Compet-N site that allows port-recorded demos... but I doubt anyone would want to admin it.
Personally, I think a new ports_misc directory should be allowed, like misc demos are now.  Misc demos are demos worth noting, but aren't for points.  I'd think almost any port-recorded demo that beat a real Compet-N demo would qualify for a ports_misc dir.... but then this site is not about hosting those.
If you record such a demo, I'll make a very non-fanfaresque directory for them at Telefragged....

I would use the regular doom2.exe but the thing is I got no mouse on it... doom95 has no mosue driver which REALLY ticks me off. If I get a mouse driver on doom95 I'll be set.

If your mouse is ps/2 compatible, I think you can get a generic ms-dos mouse driver and it should work fine.

you can't use doom95 for compet-n anyway...what mouse do you have? what OS are you running doom2.exe in?

I am using Windows XP Home edition. Is there a way I can run DOS DOOM through this Doom95 Disc?

you can't really get the original exes going very well in XP or 2K. Most serious players dual-boot Win98.
